This hard shell kayak is with a carbon Kevlar hull and clearcoat, a black fiberglass deck. This is called the Premium layup at Valley Sea Kayak (formerly Valley Canoe Products). The vacuum bagged c/K hull saves perhaps 8 lbs of weight overall. The kayak was ordered from Valley in 2008, and although a clear keel strip was optioned to protect the fragile hull, a compass and built-in pump was deliberately not ordered to save on weight.
I really like your blog. I really appreciate the good quality content you are posting here for free. I was looking to buy an inflatable boat foot pump but was looking for all the characteristics. Thanks for sharing all the information with us.
